The objective is to introduce some of the components mainly used in IC Engines and make analysis of various forces involved. Subjects deals with topics like inertia forces in slider crank mechanism; IC Engine components & the analysis like governors is introduced. It also deals with balancing of rotating & reciprocating parts. Studies are made about balancing of multi cylinder engines, Radial engines etc. study of primary & secondary forces are considered while balancing. Finally they are introduced to the topic of vibrations. The study deals with linear, longitudinal, & torsional vibrations.
The objectives of the course are to enable the student;
To familiarize with the standard conventions for different materials and machine parts in working drawings. To make part drawings including sectional views for various machine elements. To prepare assembly drawings given the details of part drawings.
The main objective of the subject Heat Transfer is to make the student familierwith the basic laws of heat transfer i.e. heat conduction, convection and radiation and their applications. The student would also be exposed to various practical applications in engineering like heat transfer through composite surfaces, between fluid and solid surfaces, in boiling and condensation, through thermal radiation and in different heat exchanging equipment. Elements of the procedure of heat exchanger design making use of the laws learnt also forms a part of the coverage. The student would be able to deal with various aspects of heat transfer in relation to industrial equipment through this course.
The objective is to make the student familiar with the components and functioning of an Automobile Engine. Automobile engineering is assuming ever increasing importance in INDIA with the vehicle density going up by each day. The course introduces the student to the systems practical and theory operation of the whole automobile unit. This knowledge is essential to the student who wished to make a career in automotive engineering. The knowledge acquired also has ramification in other branches of mechanical engineering. Automobile Engineering covers almost all facts of Mechanical Engineering principles and hence it is a very essential subject for the student.
Finite Element Method is relevant to all mechanical engineers as it is widely accepted method in structural mechanics applied to static and dynamic applications and problems involving heat transfer and fluid flow. This method offers low cost design solutions by reducing the time and number of validatory experiments to be conducted in arriving at the optimal design.
To gain knowledge about designing the commonly used important machine members such as bearings, engine parts, springs, belts, gears etc. To design the components using the data available in design data books
To apply the principles of Thermodynamics to analyze different types of refrigeration and air conditioning systems and to understand the functionality of the major components.
To enable the students to imbibe and internalize the Values and Ethical Behaviour in the personal and Professional lives.
This course provides in depth knowledge of Operation Research which is a management based subject which will help New coming entrepreneurs.
The main objectives are
A study of the arrangement of physical facilities and materials handling to optimize the interrelationships among operating personnel, material flow, information flow, and the methods required in achieving enterprise objectives efficiently, economically, and safely. The objectives of this course are to learn process design and methods of analyzing material flow and facility layout, learn the principles of material handling. Acquire insight into the selection of material handling equipment; learn an ordered planning system for effective physical facility layouts
The recent sharp increases in the prices of oil, natural gas, uranium and coal underline the importance for all countries to focus on development of alternative energy resources. For developing countries, these price increases can have ruinous economic consequences; for many countries already plagued by poverty this means a choice between fuel and food, health care, education and other essentials. Renewable energy resources need priority because:
